Cannoneer (砲撃士 [hougekishi] in Japanese) is a newcomer to the Final Fantasy series. It first made its appearance in a rerelease of FF5, and soon after in the Tactics spinoff series. They don't have much common characteristics other than using various types of cannons. Similar jobs include the Flintlock, which is more magic-based instead of Cannoneer which is more physical-based.
There are no character examples of Cannoneers.
Final Fantasy V
"Tinkerers with the know-how to combine items into weapons both beautiful and destructive"
Cannoneer was one of extra jobs added for the GBA release of the game, and wasn't present in earlier versions. Their stats are definitely not the greatest, but their abilities give them the advantage of attacking reliably from the back row.
