Limit Boost

Limit Boost (上限進化 [jougen shinka] or 'limit evolution' in Japanese) is a way of making your weapons, abilities and summon stones stronger in Final Fantasy Airborne Brigade. There is a related concept called Transmutation, and a separate leveling method called Enhancing. Note that Limit Boost is not to be confused with Limit Breaking, they are two different things.

The specific way limit boosting enhances your skills is through boosting their max level by fusing together two abilities of the same name and same rank. This allows you to level the skills further, letting them become stronger. Note that actual leveling does have to be done separately from limit boosting.

You can access the limit boosting interface through main menu -> Evolution (進化 [shinka]). The default tab you'll arrive to is for Limit Boost. Note that you will be under the Abilities sub-tab by default, you need to pick a different one to see your boostable weapons and summon stones.

When you access Limit Boost, you will be shown a list of abilities, weapons and summon stones that you can limit boost at the moment. This means that all the same name/rank combinations that you have more than one of will be listed. Note that the skills that have reached their max limit boost level will not appear here, as they cannot be boosted themselves nor can they be used to limit boost another one.

How To

To limit boost something, simply choose the skill you want to boost. All applicable abilities will be selected for boosting it. Note that the skills used to boost another skill are consumed in the process. If there is one specific one that you don't wish to use up but is listed in the applicable abilities, all you have to do is remove the check mark next to it before confirming your selection. Once you confirm, you will be taken to a second confirmation screen that shows you how much gil the boosting will cost you. If everything is in order, confirm the selection and your skill will be boosted.

Note that you will gain some exp for your skill when limit boosting. The amount depends on the current level of the skills consumed during boosting. If, for example, one of the materials has been leveled to its max, your boosted ability might gain enough exp in the process that it will reach its new max level. However, this is not a good way to level skills, you will most likely end up wasting exp.

The amount of levels your max level will rise depends on what rank the skill in question is (see table below). Note that each limit boost level consumes exactly one skill. If you do a boost with multiple skills, you get as many boost levels as you used up skills.
While weapons and abilities behave as per the below chart when boosted, summon stones are slightly different. See the summon page for their details.
