Hein's Castle

Overview

Hein's Castle (ハインの城 [hein no shiro] in Japanese) is actually the hollowed-out trunk of the Elder Tree, now functioning as a moving castle for the magician Hein. It can be seen wandering the desert between the town of Tokkul and the Village of the Ancients on the Floating Continent in Final Fantasy III, but only in the appropriate section of the story. Do note the treasure and missables in this area will be missed permanently if you fail to get them before clearing the boss.

The Warriors of Light are taken to Hein's Castle from Tokkul when intercepted by Hein's brainwashed soldiers. In the dungeons they meet King Argus and other residents of Argus. They then head to the throne room, where they take on Hein and defeat him, freeing the Elder Tree from his magical slavery and seeing him safely to the Living Woods where he lives.

Info

The staircase (a vine or root leading up through a small hole in story terms) on 1F can only be traversed when minimized. The soldier on the left side of the room will give your party a scroll of Mini if you talk to him.
