Overview
Cedarwood (シダーウッド [cedarwood] in Japanese) is an area in lower La Noscea. It gives out to the Strait of Merlthor on the east side, and the La Thagran Eastroad runs south-west to north-east through it. To the north-east lies the Bloodshore area, to the north the Raincatcher Gulley - although the latter only became accessible from Cedarwood after the Calamity. To the south is the Moraby Bay, and a path leads south-east from Cedarwood through Widow Cliffs to the village of Mist. Note that before the Calamity in version 1.x, Bearded Rock could be accessed by following the Eastroad. The Calamity closes this route, although middle La Noscea can still be accessed through the Blind Iron Mines.
Note that the Red Rooster Stead that now stands in the middle of Cedarwood used to be located in Bloodshore. It is likely that this is a complete retcon, as there is no mention of recently changing the location of the farm, whereas NPCs do imply it having a long history. This could also be understood, in lore terms, as a hitch brought on by the realm's rebirth following the Calamity.
While Cedarwood has long since ceased to be an actual forest, before Lominsans settled the island there used to be a thick forest in Cedarwood. It was eventually cut down to make more lumber for the shipyards, and is currently largely farmland.
Locations
The Grey Fleet
The Grey Fleet (グレイフリート風車群 [grey fleet kazakuruma gun] or 'grey fleet windmill group' in Japanese) is a series of windmills on the shores of the Rhotano Sea. The location is idea, as a constant southerly wind blows through the area, enabling the constant use of the windmills. Note that sources1 say that this is actually part of the Widow Cliffs area, although it is displayed on the Cedarwood map.
Note that Widow Cliffs was only accessible in version 1.x. The Grey Fleet, however, is only present in version 2.0, although lore says it was there the whole time, just inaccessible to players.
The House of Sticks
The House of Sticks (見捨てられた廃屋 [misuterareta haioku] or 'abandoned deserted house' in Japanese) is a small hut that is in the present day taken over by the kobolds. Black marketeers are known to sometimes use it as a meeting place. It is unknown why the House was originally built.
